2023 Postmark Rubber Stamp

Postmarks are unique and fascinating as stamps themselves. These wooden rubber stamps are inspired by real postmarks (postal stamps) and also precanceled stamps (used to cancel the postage stamps) found on letters, postcards or packages which indicating the date that the item was delivered into the care of the postal service.

Each of them features a design of postmark for the year of 2023. They would be great for adding personal touches especially when use with your vintage tickets, paper collection, vintage/decorative postage stamps.

About 癸卯 (Year of the Rabbit)

According to the Chinese calendar, the year 2023 will be the Year of the Water Rabbit (癸卯 guǐ máo). Created for delivery or record in the year of Water Rabbit (2023).

About 癸卯特别邮信局 (Special Post Office for Year of Rabbit)

癸卯 means "the year of rabbit";

特别邮信局  means "special post office";

年月日 means "year month day", empty column designed for date.

This postmark is inspired by folded mail. The postmark is folded, like our folded life, flexible yet left with traces.

About 叁 (Three) 

叁 means "three" in Japanese and Chinese languages.

About 閱  

閱  means "have read, have reviewed, have examined" in Japanese and Chinese languages.

About 記錄済 | Record Completed or Completion of Record

Nowadays, contemporary postmark might include locations, time & date, advertisement, slogan or certain message (promotional postmark).

Inspired by the inspection or record seals that are commonly found in Japan for completion of inventory check, record of completed payment, inspection certificate etc, this postmark is designed to record an end of your daily/weekly/yearly entries, providing a satisfying end. 

The empty column at the bottom is normally used for name seal during inventory checking or stock-taking in order to record the person in charged. You may use the empty column to document the date, the weather, or anything that would suit your needs.

“記錄“ means to record, to document, to remember, to archive.

About 单日邮资已付; 生活记录专用章

单日邮资已付 -- Same-day postage is paid OR postage for today has already completed. Referring you have completed the day.

生活记录专用章 -- A special stamp designed exclusively for record of daily life.

About 一期一會

"一期一會" is a Japanese phrase to admonish you that the very moment you are meeting each other is the once-in-a-lifetime event. In other words, treasure every moment. This phrase is also used as the name of Midori 1Day1Page Diary Book.

About MMXXIII

"MMXXII" is 2023 in roman numeral.
